About the Macomb County Chiropractic Association

More about our Association

The Macomb County Chiropractic Association (M.C.C.A.) is a non-profit organization established in 1971 to promote the Chiropractic profession and to support the Chiropractors.

Annual continuing educational courses have been offered by the Macomb County Chiropractic Association for nearly 50 years as part of the mission of the organization.

The Macomb County Chiropractic Association has no paid staff and is run on a voluntary basis. The organization has no physical building, thus no significant overhead. Annual dues are just $50 per doctor per year.

The Macomb County Chiropractic Association has established a Permanent Endowment Fund to benefit autistic and emotionally impaired children via the Macomb Intermediate School District’s Bozymowski Education Center.  This Endowment Fund has approximately $50,000 in 2021 and generates earnings every year which accumulate for the benefit of the special needs children.  The fund’s earnings benefit special needs children in perpetuity. The fund is maintained under the auspices of the Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation.

The Macomb County Chiropractic Association also disburses thousands of dollars in chiropractic scholarships to students annually.  Scholarship applications are available mid-January and are due back mid-March.  Winners are announced by June of each year.  Please see the Scholarship tab on this website for more information and the link to the Application.

The Macomb County Chiropractic Association is non-political and is not affiliated with any other state or national chiropractic organization.  We encourage concurrent membership in the Michigan Association of Chiropractors.

When you attend the annual Macomb County Chiropractic Association seminar you support a very worthy organization and you benefit the chiropractic profession.   Contact us for further details!

Your First Visit to a Chiropractor

Welcome
Each chiropractic office is independent and has its own style and personality. People seek chiropractic care to relieve their symptoms and to enhance and maintain good health. There are many benefits to chiropractic care. Chiropractic uses no drugs or surgery and is a natural approach to health care. A new patient questionnaire helps tell your Doctor of Chiropractic about your health status.
Consultation
The doctor will go over your health history and discuss your health concerns with you. The doctor will determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition and an examination will follow.
Examination
The doctor will provide a thorough exam using orthopedic, neurological and/or other chiropractic tests to locate areas of your spine that might be the cause of your problem and to uncover any other possible health issues.
X-Rays
Depending upon your condition, x-rays, MRI or other forms of diagnostic imaging may be necessary. Imaging the structures can help to rule out pathologies and may provide important information about your spinal health status.
Report of findings
The Doctor will discuss a report of your findings and review your x-rays and recommend a treatment program specific to your needs. Once you have gained a complete understanding of your condition and the benefits of chiropractic care, you will be able to enjoy better health through safe and gentle spinal adjustments. How long you decide to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you.
Treatment
Once the doctor has a complete understanding of your condition treatment recommendations are made. The doctor will determine a plan of care for your unique circumstances. Chiropractors primarily utilize spinal adjustments or manipulation although many offices also use other therapeutic modalities as well. Massage therapy may also be available in your chiropractor’s office as well.
Home Care and Exercise
The doctor may suggest “do’s and don’ts” and other instructions in addition to the care provided at the chiropractic office. Stretching or strengthening exercises may be prescribed to promote stabilization and healing.
